Michael Sobell Hospice – Static Marshal (On Your Bike 2018)

Details of the Charity:

Michael Sobell Hospice provides care, comfort and support for local people facing life limiting illnesses. It is a special place, where patients and families can spend precious time together.  A professional team offers medical, nursing and emotional care along with practical support for patients, their families and carers. Our aim is that every patient should experience a journey towards the end of their life that is peaceful, comfortable and free from worry and pain.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

On Your Bike is taking place on Sunday 20th May and is a 40 mile sponsored cycle challenge!

The ride starts at 8am and will end at 2pm. You will be needed between any of these times depending on your position on route, usually 2 hours in any spot.

You must be willing to stand for a couple of hours, happy to work outdoors in pairs, wear a hi-vis vest and direct cyclists.

You would need to have access to car to get to ones marshal position.

You can also stand and greet people from 7.30am at registration.

  • Hours volunteered will be recorded on your H.E.A.R transcript – which goes on your permanent university record
  • All hours will contribute towards you Brunel Volunteers Award, which leads to an invitation to the Brunel Volunteers Award Ceremony in May
