Hayes End Community Centre – Events Volunteer

We are a small community Centre with a very small group of people who try to build the community spirit into a very busy town.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

Volunteers would be appreciated to help out at the events held below:

  • Monthly Craft Café showing people how to knit, crotchet and sew. We aim to recycle old items, and aim to help them create new from old.
  • Weekly bingo for the older community
  • Two yearly lunches for the housebound and care homes local to us
  • Yearly fun run (early September)
  • Regular fundraising events
  • Easter Egg hunts
  • Halloween party
  • Xmas party

The hall is out for hire to any other community events.

Skills required:

  • Common sense
  • Ability to talk to people of all levels
  • Friendly
  • Enthusiastic

*DBS required – provided free of charge by Brunel Volunteers

Additional benefits to the Volunteer:

  • Hours volunteered will be recorded on your HEAR – which goes on your permanent university record.
  • All hours contribute towards your Brunel Volunteers Awards, which leads to an invitation to the Brunel Volunteers Awards Ceremony
