Michael Sobell Hospice – 40th Anniversary Sponsored Walk Marshal


Details of the Charity:

Michael Sobell Hospice is the specialist palliative care centre at Mount Vernon Hospital, Vernon. With 16 bed in-patient unit and day therapy centre, Michael Sobell Hospice aim to ensure that all patients who face life limiting illnesses receive the best possible care to enhance their quality of life.

Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:

The “40th Anniversary Sponsored Walk” will take place on Sunday 8th October 2017 from 9AM-3PM.

There will be a 5 mile and 12 mile route in and around Rickmansworth and Harefield.

Marshalling in pairs will be best, at a variety of crucial points along the route.

Static Marshals

  • guide walkers at junctions with route signs

Walking Marshals

  • wear hi-vis vests and walk the complete routes

Skills required:

  • friendly
  • confident
  • team player

  • hours volunteered will be recorded on your HEAR – which goes on your permanent university rec0rd
