Recycle a Bike – Cycle Shop Assistant


Details of the Organisation:

Recycle a Bike recycle unwanted bicycles and provide affordable bikes to the local community and help reduce the number of bikes that end up in landfill. Recycle a Bike is a volunteer-based organisation that helps people that suffer from mental health illness and provides support, training and stepping stone back to employment. We’ve recently moved to a new location in Uxbridge and we are looking for people to lend a helping hand at our new ‘Rusty Café’ and our new cycle shop.

Details of The Volunteering Opportunity:

We are looking for someone to help out on the day to day activities of the cycle shop. This will include:

  • Helping recycle old donated bikes (training provided)
  • Dealing with customer queries
  • Organising stock (new and old)

Ideally, we are looking for a volunteer to help us once a week (flexible, terms can be discussed) in our bike shop in Uxbridge, Rockingham Parade, UB8 2UW.

Skills required:

  • Excellent and friendly customer service skills
  • Genuine interest in bicycles and knowledge of cycle repairs (training provided)
  • Works well in a diverse team
  • Reliable and committed

Additional Benefits:

  • Hours volunteered will be recorded on your HEAR – which goes on your permanent university record
  • All hours contribute towards your Brunel Volunteers Award, which leads to an invitation to the End of Year Volunteers Dinner
