Details of the Volunteering Opportunity:
Catalyst Housing are offering various volunteer opportunities across its Catalyst Gateway (community investment) team. Volunteers will receive FREE training and a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
We’re offering a range of volunteering opportunities including GCSE mentoring, estate outreach, community projects, employment support and helping residents who are in financial difficulty or debt.
Suitable volunteers will receive specialist training by our experienced mentors. Please note: all volunteers must attend all training
Gener8 programme – 1-2-1 mentoring young people who are currently studying for their GCSEs within the borough of Ealing.
”Volunteering for Catalyst at Acton High School first was challenging as I had very little confidence and experience in how to mentoring young people within an education environment. The training sessions provided were direct and influential as they gave me the right tools needed for my placement. Volunteering has given me the hands on experience I needed whilst studying for my degree in criminology at University of West London”
Minimum of 2 hours per week.
Skills Required from the Volunteer:
- No experience needed
- DBS check required but this will be free of charge
Additional Benefits to the Volunteer:
- Gaining experience and knowledge engaging with young people
- All volunteers will have a free DBS check for future employers
- Role recorded on your HEAR – which goes on your permanent university record
- Contributes to the Brunel Volunteers Award, leading to an invite to the Brunel Volunteers End of Year Dinner
